Feed A Smile

Feed a Smile is a project of Live in Learn in Kenya International. This program raises funds to feed very poor children that attend the Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l program in Nakuru - Kenya.  Live and Learn in Kenya finds sponsors to finance the education of needy children, which includes everything that the child needs in order to go to school — fees, uniform, shoes, textbooks, school supplies.  We have been sponsoring a child in this school for over 5 years.  We are very proud to be able to continue to make a difference in a young girl's life.

Using SL to help Australia

During January 15th-February 15th, we worked with the amazing sisters of Delta Omicron Psi Epsilon Sorority to partner and raise money to help rescue animals impacted by the Australian wildfires.

In the Australia bush fire emergency, 
Australia faced some of the most dangerous and catastrophic bush fires they have ever seen.
The fires in Australia are devastating – and the crisis is still ongoing.

More than 10 million hectares have been burnt, and this number continues to climb. That’s the equivalent of 40% of the entire UK.

Lives, homes, and an estimated 1.25 billion animals have been affected, including 30% of the entire koala population in mid-north coast of New South Wales. These catastrophic mega fires are worsening the extinction crisis we’re already facing.

With the money raised, our Australia teams along with local organisations will carry out work including:

Providing emergency funds to care for injured wildlife
After the fires clear, helping restore homes for animals and other wildlife,.
Supporting the response, recovery and restoration teams in any other way we can
Helping pressure governments to strengthen laws that prevent excessive tree-clearing, before it's too late

We raised close to 100k lindens. Thank you for your amazing support!

All donations will go to WIRES, (Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation, who works to rescue Australian Wildlife from the bushfires.
